Amorette’s Patisserie Gluten Free Desserts
As we sat in Disney Springs, enjoying a sunny and productive morning and wrapping up a snacking lunch, we noticed the Amorette’s Patisserie building. While the kids finished their lunches, my husband and I went in to check it out. I did not expect to find anything in particular at a Patisserie that would work for our allergies, but it’s always fun to see the beautiful design work!
As I made my way down the row of stunning treats, I noticed macaroons, which are typically gluten free, and sometimes dairy free (depending on the filling) and then I saw these show stopping little chocolate gluten free truffle looking treats. The gold foil is the finishing touch that made my decision for me! I had to get one for the kiddo (who is gluten free, but not dairy free). These desserts generally do have dairy, so I didn’t even ask about that, but only bought for the kids to share, knowing it was gluten free, not dairy free, and stunning!
Of course, the kids loved this rich chocolate treat. I didn’t want to be left out of the fun, so I asked about their slushie drinks and verified that the rose hibiscus lemonade was, indeed, a dairy free gluten free option. I ordered that lovely pink beverage and we made our way back outside.
Now, a slushie drink on a hot day at Disney cannot be beat, but this particular drink is not one I would re order. It was so bitter that it was not very enjoyable, and that coming from someone who generally does not use sugar at home (I use stevia and erythritol, or go without). While this drink wasn’t very tasty, I would try a different flavor. I believe that they had a mango flavor as well, so that would be worth a shot!
Speaking of “shot”, they do offer alcoholic drinks with sparkling wine mixed into the slushie, but it was a little early for me to try that one. I am sure it would be a fun treat, however!
Whenever we try gluten free pastries from normal bakeries, we realize there is a higher risk of cross contamination, which is why Erin Mckenna’s bakery is still our main treat splurge at Disney, but it was fun to try new things on our trip this time around Disney Springs and this dessert was a delight in it’s beauty that could not be passed by!
